CECA is offering a unique residency opportunity for artists of various art forms to utilise our fantastic facilities for rehearsal, writing, recording and creative space to develop new and innovative pieces of work. We are interested in working with young artists, artists creating work for young people or artists who work with young people as an integral part of their art.
Artists at all stages of their career have the opportunity to apply to take free long or short-term residencies within the centre where they can both conceive and create their latest piece of theatre, comedy, music, film or other art form.
This is an opportunity for artists to further develop their ideas as well as giving the young people within the centre the chance to work alongside some of the talented creative minds within the industry.
There are various spaces within the building that artists can utilise for free during their residency. These include:
- Fully equipped theatre
- Dance and rehearsal studios
- TV studio including green screen
- Music recording studio
- Radio/Podcast suite
- Media suite
Artists will be able to have dedicated time within these spaces which would be negotiated ahead of the residency commencing. Our technical team will also be on hand to support wherever possible.
Artists will also be provided with dedicated, lockable office space including Wifi and IT equipment (if required). You are also welcome to help yourself to tea and coffee.
